Dirtgirlworld, stylized as dirtgirlworld, is an Australian-Canadian children's television series created by Cate McQuillen and Hewey Eustace of Mememe Productions. The series used 3D CGI animation combined with photomontage and live action.

Plot[]

"dirtgirl’s backyard is full of friends. There’s scrapboy, her best friend, who lives next door and is a whiz with junk, grubby with her worm’s eye view, ken the weevil, a super stunt star weevil with an inferiority complex, roger the rooster and the chicks, hayman the monosyllabic scarecrow, and the green thumbs…real kids in real gardens having unreal fun." Run on Sprout[]

Dirtgirlworld premiered on Sprout on April 22nd, 2010 to celebrate Earth Day, as part of Dig Into Earth Day. Creator Cate McQuillen said that she wanted a US home for her show that cared about kids. To promote the show's arrival, it was on the welcome page at SproutOnline.com.

It was panned by critics and audience for its creepy visuals, but was popular enough to last for 2 years on the channel.

"I do not like the looks of dirtgirlworld at all. I'm sure it has a good, positive message for children, but it is just too creepy! And their voices are creepy too! The whole thing is disturbing, and we will not be watching that show."
―Gabrielle, Sprout for Parents

It stopped airing on November 6, 2012, to the relief of many traumatized viewers everywhere, even though the show remained on-demand at some point, as a fan remembers.

The show aired daily at 4:30 EST and PT/3:30 CT.

DirtGirlWorld remained ondemand and on the app until the channel closed in 2017, it’s unknown why it stayed there.
